Laneway Festival announces Nick Murphy (f.k.a. Chet Faker) as first act on 2017 line-up.
Laneway Festival have just announced Nick Murphy (the new incarnation of Chet Faker) as the first act in the 2017 festival line-up.
Previously known under the musical name of Chet Faker, Nick Murphy took to social media to explain the change of name, releasing the following statement:
“its been half a decade since I started releasing music as Chet Faker and all of you have been the driving force behind the music since.
there's an evolution happening and I wanted to let you know where its going.
the next record will be under my own name, Nick Murphy.
Chet Faker will always be a part of the music.
This is next.”
He’s also given the first taste of new music in the form of ‘Fear Less’, a combination of his classic crooning voice with an electronic storm of sound.
