Matt Smith - of 'Doctor Who' fame - has signed on to play the male lead in Ryan Gosling's upcoming directorial debut, 'How To Catch A Monster'.

Smith will star opposite Christina Hendricks and Ben Mendelsonhn. Eva Mendes has also been announced to have joined the film's cast.
